Magdalena Moser is currently studying Concert Organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Ulrich Walther. She has already made several appearances at international organ competitions: In 2023, she was a finalist at the prestigious International Organ Competition in St. Albans (UK), where she was awarded the Judith Weir Prize. In 2021, she received the Douglas May Award in the online edition of the Organ Competition in St. Albans, as well as a first prize at the Jean Sibelius-themed competition “JS Fest Competition 2021” in Turku. In the same year, she was also awarded the Recognition Prize for outstanding achievements by the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. In 2020, she won first prize at the 8th International Franz Schmidt Organ Competition, and in 2019, she won the 2nd prize at the 11th International Organ Competition in Korschenbroich (Germany). She is also a multiple prize winner of the Martha Debelli Competition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz: In 2022, she won the 1st prize, in 2018 the 2nd prize, and in 2017 an encouragement award. Additionally, she won several first prizes at the “Prima la musica” youth music competition and received the Gifted Scholarship from the City of Graz in 2009, as well as the Dr. Rudolf Kirchschläger Scholarship in 2013. She has participated in masterclasses with Theo Jellema, Erwin Wiersinga, Naji Hakim, Hannfried Lucke, Wolfgang Zerer, and Peter Planyavsky.
She has performed at various prestigious venues including the Salzburg Festival, the Wiener Musikverein, and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. In 2022, as part of the Jeunesse organ series, she gave an organ concert at the RadioKulturhaus Wien, which was broadcast live on Ö1.
Magdalena Moser graduated with honors from the Bachelor’s program in Organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in 2021. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the same institution. She also studied Instrumental (Vocal) Pedagogy (IGP) Piano, as well as Concert Performance and IGP Clarinet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, graduating with distinction in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Furthermore, she studied Piano-Vocal Accompaniment and Composition/Music Theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. She has continued her studies in Composition and Music Theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 2020. Studies in Conducting and Music Theater Repetiteur at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz complement her versatile musical education. Since 2022, she has been working as a repetiteur and music theory teacher at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory Graz, and since April 2023, she has also been leading the organ class at the J.J. Fux Conservatory in Graz.
